Laureates Academy welcomes applications from bright and curious students from around the world! We offer a stimulating learning environment that fosters intellectual growth and a love of learning. Here’s a roadmap to guide you through the admissions process for international students:
Eligibility:
Academic Achievement: We seek students with a strong academic record who demonstrate a passion for learning and a willingness to be challenged.
English Language Proficiency: As our program of instruction is delivered in English, all applicants must demonstrate proficiency in the English language. This will be achieved through our internal assessment, however, a recognized English language test such as TOEFL or IELTS may help.
Age Requirement: Students from grade 1 (6 years old) to grade 12 (18 years old) can apply to Laureates Academy.
Application Process:
Step 1: Explore Laureates Academy:
Browse our website to learn about our philosophy, curriculum, and the unique learning environment we offer. Also, make sure that you read about our tuition fees and understand the payment and tuition fee and (optional) boarding costs structure before you apply. You may also talk to some of our counselors to learn more about our school. You can arrange a phone conversation with our counselors either via email (registrar@Laureates.ca) or via phone +1(647)455-2606.
Step 2: Gather Application Materials:
Online Application Form: Complete the online application form available on our website. Ensure you provide accurate and complete information.
Report Cards: Submit all your official high school transcripts (if any) from all schools previously attended if you are applying to our high school program. These documents must be in English or accompanied by certified English translations. If you are applying to kindergarten (4 and 5 years old), elementary (grades 1 to 4) or middle school (grades 5 to 8), please submit your latest report card.
Teacher Recommendation Letters: Request two letters of recommendation from current teachers who can speak to your academic abilities, potential, and overall strengths.
Standardized Test Scores (optional): Submit scores from standardized tests (if available) such as TOEFL, IELTS, or national exams from your home country.
Additional Documents:
- A copy of your passport photo page
- A copy of your birth certificate
- A copy of parents photo ID
- Vaccination Card
Online Assessment:
Shortlisted applicants: Students who meet the initial application requirements will be shortlisted for the next step.
Online Assessment: Shortlisted applicants will participate in an online assessment process. This may involve a written component, a problem-solving activity, and an online interview with our admissions committee.
Admissions Decision:
Application Review: The admissions committee will carefully review all application materials and online assessment results.
Communication: We will notify you of the admissions decision within a specified timeframe. You will receive a formal letter outlining the decision and next steps.
Important Considerations for International Students:
Financial Requirements: International students are required to pay the entire year’s tuition fee in advance to receive their admissions letter and tuition fee receipt.
Canadian Study Permit: It’s crucial to apply for a Canadian study permit well in advance of your expected arrival date. Laureates Academy can provide guidance on this process but cannot guarantee successful visa applications.
Refund Policy: In case your Canadian visa and study permit application is rejected, a non-refundable administrative fee of $1,500 CAD will be withheld. The remaining tuition fee will be refunded within 8 to 12 weeks of receiving the official visa rejection letter. No refunds can be processed without written proof of visa rejection.
Payment Options: We accept tuition fee payments via wire transfer to our designated TD Canada Trust bank account. Alternatively, you may authorize a friend, family member, lawyer, paralegal, or immigration consultant residing inside Canada to make the payment on your behalf. Cash payments are not accepted.
Custody and Boarding: International students who require a custodian or wish to apply for boarding and dormitory residence should refer to our separate application and fee schedule for these services.
Document Translation: All application documents not originally in English must be accompanied by certified English translations.
